I was reading this article today on the website Flip the Media:
A useful piece for anyone who wants to become more involved in content creation. It looks as if there’s a growing demand for people with writing skills and qualifications to become content strategists.
There’s reference to a book I bought last year on the topic called Content Strategy for the Web by Kristina Halvorson. Apparently it’s quite an influential book, which I hadn’t realised.
I’d recommend the book if content strategy is something you want to learn more about.
One point which I thought was important was the emphasis on the use of metrics and how the content you produce needs to be measured and analysed. You need to establish what your content goals are and how those goals will be measured and achieved.
