Tip of the day: What’s the difference between Copywriting and Content Marketing?

I thought I’d direct you to a post on Copyblogger which answers this very question.

What’s the difference between Copywriting and Content Marketing?

Content Marketing is the current buzz phrase in the world of marketing. Although you may have been wondering what exactly content marketing is?

As for copywriting your knowledge may come exclusively from watching Don Draper and friends in Mad Men. If not you probably know copywriting relates to advertising in some way.

As a basic introduction, you could say copywriting is about influencing your reader to take a specific action – for example buying a product.

Content Marketing is about creating valuable content for your readers/customers that has a marketing purpose.

Although separate, copywriting and content marketing do overlap each other. I’ve always found this post on Copyblogger incredibly useful in understanding the difference between the two.
